a handmade, hand painted keepsake clay treasure box ✨

this one of a kind piece is painted with a little rabbit in a leafy, floral frame on the top, ornaments on each side and little flowers on the inner drawer. 

there is a small chip on the bottom of the box in the top left corner. you can’t see it when the box is the right way up, but this small defect is reflected in the price.

made with stoneware clay, i build these little boxes by hand with mini slabs of clay. they are then bisque fired, and then i paint them with underglazes, before they are dipped in a transparent glaze and then fired again. it’s a slow process, and you never quite know what’s going to come out of the kiln!

i have made these to be magical heirlooms that can last many lifetimes, in which to keep your most secret and tiniest of treasures - a cherished necklace, precious seeds, a lock of hair, a tooth for the tooth fairy, a love note.
