Hand printed lino cut, printed on Somerset printmaking paper. This high quality, archival paper is made from 100% cotton. It is a deep, warm shade of black and has a soft velvet surface.
The design has been printed with traditional, light-fast linseed oil based relief ink in a beautiful metallic gold.
I have hand printed these lino prints from a lino cut. I ink up the lino by hand and then individually press and burnish each sheet of paper onto the lino block to make the print. As such, each print is unique and has slight variations and imperfections.
I created the lino cut in the spring, when the relief of a big project in which to distract myself from the first lockdown was very welcome, and she is also my first ever attempt at a large scale lino cut. I loved making her and I’m so happy with how she’s come out. Thank you so much for looking.
